Broken promises in Busia

In Busia, Lambert Ogochi of the Busia Outgrowers Company describes how local people were displaced to make way for a sugar processing plant that never came. The Mumias sugar company took over, and have apparently asked farmers to grow cane, but still no processing factory has been built. The people of Busia, especially those displaced by the sugar project, suffer greatly from poverty.
